The Year Of The Ox In Chinese Astrology:
Chinese astrology consists of 12 zodiac signs, represented by an animal. In a way that’s similar to Western astrology (depending whether or not you add Ophiuchus).
The 12 Chinese zodiac signs are as follows:
Whilst in Western astrology every sign is represented for about a month, in Chinese astrology these animals last for an entire year. Chinese new year marks the start of this zodiac sign year.
2021 is the year of the Ox. Since the cycle repeats every 12 years, the year of the ox will also occur in 2033, 2045, 2057 and so on. In this video we explain a little more, and also focus on the traits of the ox. Let’s list the most important ones here as well.
An ox is often honest. They are responsible people who are loyal and work hard. Logical thinking isn’t uncommon either. From time to time, an ox can be a little stubborn. They could be quiet and not talk a whole lot. One reason for this could be their cautious personality.
You’ll find the ox to be quite a good leader. They like routines and respect tradition quite a lot. When it comes to food, they could prefer the more unhealthy snacks. Therefore, it’s often advised for them to enjoy more vegetables.
The year of the ox can be categorized as well. There are 5 elements an ox could stand for. These elements are: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. Depending on the year, a specific elements has it’s influence. 2021 is represented by the metal element. Therefore, 2021 is the year of the metal ox. 2033 will be the year of the water ox, and 2045 will be the year of the wood ox. These elements affect the traits of the ox, which means they’re not all exactly the same (which no one is of course, but from an astrological point of view).
The year of the ox also comes with lucky and unlucky signs. For example, the lucky numbers for an ox are 1 and 9. 3 and 4 are considered to be unlucky. More signs like lucky colors, flowers or even directions are listed on our website.
Chinese astrology also comes with compatibility charts. The ox seems to be a good match for the rat, the snake and the rooster. But here are other signs that could complement the ox or who the ox would be “ok” with.
We hope you enjoyed our explanation of the year of the ox. Stay tuned about the Chinese new year dates if you’d like to know when the next sign has it’s go.
